Bridgette Shaffer, MPH

Jackson County Health Department
Bridgette Shaffer is the Health Director for the Jackson County Health Department. In this role, she has oversight of the organization’s delivery of public health services to over 250,000 residents in Jackson County.
Shaffer received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center and Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Truman State University. She has also received certification by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). In addition to serving as a board member for the Missouri Center for Public Health Excellence, Shaffer is a member of Metropolitan Official Health Agencies of the Kansas City Area, the American Evaluation Association, and the Missouri Public Health Association in which she currently serves as the Vice President of the Northwest Chapter.
She is an active participant in many health coalitions including the Building a Healthier Jackson County Coalition and Children’s Mercy Healthy Lifestyles Initiative. Her other interests include volunteering her time at community events hosted by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Truman Medical Centers.
